Anchor welcomes Heather Rowell as Non-Executive Director and Ken Youngman as interim Chief Financial Officer

Anchor is delighted to announce the appointment of Heather Rowell as Non-Executive Director and Ken Youngman as interim Chief Financial Officer.

We welcome Heather Rowell to the Board as Anchor's first Resident Non-Executive Director from 1 August 2025.

Heather has been chair of Anchor’s Residents Council and Residents Environmental Forum for the past three years. She has 18 years’ experience of retail in forecasting and requisitioning roles at Waitrose and Tesco and has also worked in the insurance sector. 

Heather said of her appointment,

I am pleased to be the first Anchor resident to be appointed to the Board. I have a strong desire to support current and future residents in having a safe, welcoming and warm place to live. I am looking forward to having a voice in developing Anchor’s strategy and making sure the Board considers the impact on residents in all of its decision making.

Anchor's Chair - Christopher Kemball said,

Heather has already demonstrated her ability to be a force for good and making positive change in chairing the Residents Council at Anchor. She will be a welcome addition to the Board.

Ken Youngman will also be joining Anchor's Executive Committee as Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on 16 July 2025.

Ken has almost 25 years’ executive experience in social housing, care and commercial real estate and has most recently served as Interim CFO at GreenSquareAccord and Sovereign Housing Association. He served as Group Finance Director of Family Mosaic Housing for 16 years prior to its merger with Peabody, and is currently a non-Executive Board member and former Chair of the Audit Committee at YMCA St Paul’s Group.
